Centralizing operational data and automating SLA-critical reporting for a forensic technology company

We helped a global forensic technology company centralize over ten data sources and automate operational reporting in Excel and Power BI, restoring SLA reliability and reducing manual reporting effort.

Global forensic technology company

Outcomes

  • Centralized over ten operational data sources into a single reporting foundation
  • Automated recurring reports across Excel and Power BI with consistent data
  • Achieved reliable, on-time delivery of SLA-critical customer reports

Client Context

The client is a global forensic technology company serving government agencies and private-sector organizations. Their operations rely heavily on timely, accurate reporting to meet strict customer and regulatory service-level agreements (SLAs).

Prior to this engagement, reporting was a manual, labor-intensive process that strained operational teams and eroded customer confidence.

The Problem

Manual, high-frequency reporting

Operational and customer reporting was produced manually across daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles. Teams relied heavily on Excel files maintained independently, making reporting slow and error-prone.

Fragmented data landscape

Customer, operational, and service data lived across more than ten internal and external systems, including operational platforms, service tools, CRM systems, and spreadsheets. There was no centralized data foundation to support consistent reporting.

Missed SLAs and customer impact

Because reports were manually assembled, delays were common. Missed SLA commitments directly affected customer satisfaction and damaged trust with key clients.

What Changed

Prexisio worked with the organization to design and implement a centralized data foundation that consolidated data from more than ten source systems into a single, structured backend.

Rather than forcing a single reporting tool, reporting workflows were built to support how teams already worked. Some reports continued to be delivered in Excel, while others were transitioned to Power BI. In both cases, Excel (via Power Query) and Power BI connected to the same centralized data sources to ensure consistency.

Recurring report generation was automated end-to-end, including delivery during weekends and holidays. This removed manual effort from operational teams while ensuring reports were delivered on time and with consistent numbers.

No advanced analytics were introduced. The focus was entirely on data reliability, automation, and operational reporting consistency.

Impact

Restored SLA compliance

Automated reporting ensured on-time delivery of operational and customer reports, eliminating prior SLA failures.

Reduced operational burden

Teams no longer needed to manually collect, reconcile, and assemble data for each reporting cycle.

Improved customer trust

Consistent, reliable reporting improved customer confidence and strengthened long-term relationships.

Scalable reporting foundation

The centralized data foundation supported new reporting needs as the business evolved, without reintroducing manual processes.

Summary

Over a two-year engagement, Prexisio helped a forensic technology company move from fragmented, manual reporting to a centralized and automated reporting foundation. By integrating more than ten data sources and supporting both Excel and Power BI from the same backend, the organization achieved reliable SLA-driven reporting without changing how teams worked day to day.
